Advanced Technology Lab

MRAS Advanced Technology Lab supports technology development programs for the company’s engineering team and for its partners.The lab is constructed of three sectors: materials, product development and production support. Each allows MRAS to design, develop and produce products, as well as certify materials for FAA conformity all in one location.

The Advanced Technology Lab’s materials sector conducts all required testing on materials to certify for conformity. Evaluations of materials, subcomponents and structures can be performed at a reduced scale, followed by the scale-up to full size components. The laboratory also can build its own tooling to support such testing – including at subcomponent level and reduced scale – with full measurement instrumentation.The Advanced Technology Lab’s functional capabilities are backed by MRAS project engineers and manufacturing technicians who work closely with the engineering team in defining and creating project plans.

The product development sector covers all developmental processes, from the conception of new products and improving existing products to the design of new manufacturing processes. This section of the lab handles all developmental contracts.

The product support sector produces any urgently required product and fittings to ensure all construction can continue smoothly. This provides vital support to clients by helping maintain expected production timescales and reducing costs.

This highly agile laboratory offers “one-stop” materials solutions, using MRAS’s own materials properties database to meet requirements that range from material selection, design analysis and testing through to qualification, certification and production.
